storm® LINK™ is a video consultation tool that enables secure ad hoc one or two-way video links to patients or healthcare professionals with a single click to improve the quality of clinical consultations and reduce the need for face to face consultations.

Full description

storm LINK can be initiated by any clinician who feels that adding video to a voice call will better help them make a firm diagnosis without a subsequent face-to-face consultation. The clinician can launch the link by simply clicking on an icon on their desktop which transmits a single-use WebRTC link to the patient’s mobile without the need for them to have pre-loaded software or apps. It also avoids the need for pre-booked appointments and their associated admin burden and is ideal for people do not have laptops / tablets or who are away from home. Either the clinician or the patient can close the video link should they wish, and the voice channel will remain open. storm LINK was developed as an alternative to face-to-face consultations in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19), complies with all the NHS’ clinical safety requirements and is in routine use.

A typical storm contact centre deployment takes between 4-6 weeks to deliver from order acceptance to Go-Live. However, for an implementation of this nature, it is anticipated that it will take 2 weeks to deliver through Redwood’s expedition process. Hardware requirements
All aspects of the storm platform are browser-based, with no client installation or hardware requirements. This means the platform can be accessed from anywhere, provided there is internet access. PSTN pairing means that all calls can be routed to a mobile phone, reducing reliance on a desk phone Hardware would only be required if the customer chooses not to use the softphone on the interface, at which point, a PSTN device such as a mobile phone or hard phone would be required.

The e-consultation offering is cloud-based solution which can be rapidly deployed for practices, without the need for a lengthy setup process. The solution will allow GP’s to initiate a video call with the patient, whilst the voice call is in progress, by sending a single use SMS link to the patient’s device. Subsequently, the patient will click on the link to initiate a video call, without any need to download additional software.

Data center hosting model
