Doctorlink’s Rapid Video Consultation (VC) Service was designed to provide a simple and effective solution to meet current healthcare challenges. Quick and easy to set-up and use, it enables clinicians to securely deliver remote consultations and appointments, at a time and location that suits them.

Doctorlink’s Rapid Video Consultation (VC) solution enables GPs to securely deliver remote consultations and appointments through videos at a time and location that works for them. The product’s simplicity means that GPs can quickly and easily create a video consultation with a patient via a simple SMS sent to the patient by the GP. Patients benefit from high-quality, easy-to-use and flexible remote appointments with their trusted GP; with the reassurance of enhanced security and video quality. The product is available for both patients and GPs on desktop, smartphones or any web enabled device.

Implementation timescales

These are the typical processes and timescales to implement this Catalogue Solution:
Services/users can be trained and switch on achieved in one day. We only need minimal information to set up sites on our VC portal. Face-to-Face: Our face-to-face training can be delivered to small groups or via one-to-ones, and the specifics are agreed in advance with the Practice Manager to ensure minimum disruption to day-to-day Practice activities. Each session is around 1hr 30mins and the dedicated Client Services Manager will stay on site from 10am to 4pm or as long as needed. WebEx/E-Learning: We also offer WebEx training sessions, and E-Learning, which has been extremely well received by all practice staff. Our WebEx sessions are the same as our face-to-face training, only they are run via a video conference. Each session is around 1hr 30mins. Our E-Learning is welcomed by practices as this training model is already familiar to practice staff and is used for mandatory training in many services. Training can be completed anytime and takes around 1 hour to conclude.

Doctorlink provides web application services from the Microsoft Azure public cloud in England. Backups and service resilience are also hosted in England. No patient information is stored outside of the UK. All Doctorlink services are provisioned from the platform and the customer is not required to procure their own.


These are the supplier’s development plans for this Catalogue Solution:
Doctorlink’s Product Roadmap is reviewed and updated monthly to meet customer requirements and priorities. Incremental updates for Rapid VC are envisioned, based on usability enhancements following feedback received from patient and practitioners. No evolutionary product developments are currently planned.
