Solution ID: 10022-001
Solution information last updated: 11 August 2020
The Dermicus® digital telehealth platform is a CE Class 1 medical device and provides a secure link for collaboration from primary care clinicians to specialist consultants and experts capable of remotely diagnosing and triaging skin cancer, general skin lesions and wounds.
Dermicus® telehealth platform allows GPs to focus on patients in need, removing face to face meetings, travel and unnecessary referrals. Diagnosis can be obtained quickly remotely, reducing stress and worry for patients, improving early skin cancer diagnosis and ensuring consistency of wound management. Dermicus® is a compliant Wessex AHSN primary care demonstrator programme solution achieving NHS patient data security requirements: • Patient data hosted in UK • Integration to PDS (Patient Demographic Service) Dermicus® can be securely integrated into patient records systems or can be exported as a PDF and attached to the patient record. To support the transformational benefits of implementing teledermatology, Dermicus® drives continuous learning for the users by secure collaboration on the platform. This collaboration builds primary care users adoption and increases knowledge related to skin cancer and wound management.

Rapid and proven implementation of Dermicus® telehealth platform can be achieved by working in partnership with the customer. Customer project requirements differ but for example, a go live can be achieved within 10 working days for a small implementation of 10 sites. To enable this rapid implementation, key stakeholders are identified and active within the project from the earliest stage with the Trust, CCG, Dermatology provider and primary care all engaging directly to develop a solution tailored to the health needs of the customer.
